Meet Caitlin – our Liverpool franchise owner

Baby Squids Liverpool launch in January 2026

I met Caitlin last year when she was heading to the end of her maternity leave. She is one of the most determined women I have ever met, she has absolute clarity over what her aims are for her family and she works extremely hard to achieve this. It’s always hard when you are juggling your current job and setting up your franchise but Caitlin has smashed it so far. With new pools and times coming on board I am very excited to see how she grows this year! Let’s hear a little from Caitlin:

“Swimming has always been a huge part of my life. From a very young age, I’ve loved being in the water and have always believed that learning to swim isn’t just about safety – it’s about building confidence too.

I was actually taught to swim by my grandad, and let’s just say his methods were… memorable! (Think being dunked under and figuring it out on the way back up!) Despite that, it never put me off – in fact, it probably made me even more determined to feel comfortable and confident in the water.

After having my baby girl, everything changed in the most amazing way. I knew I wanted a career that allowed me to spend more time with her, while still doing something I loved. Taking her swimming became one of our favourite things to do – it was such a special bonding experience. No distractions, no phones, just the two of us enjoying the moment together. Seeing her smile in the water was honestly the best feeling.

Before starting this journey, I spent five years working as a secondary school teacher, and I’ve always had a real passion for teaching. When I came across Baby Squids Liverpool, something just clicked. It felt like the perfect opportunity to combine my love of teaching, my passion for swimming, and my desire to build something for myself and my family.

Taking the leap into running my own franchise was definitely stepping out of my comfort zone – but I have loved every single minute of it. I never imagined I’d go from teaching secondary school students to working with babies and preschoolers, but it has been the most rewarding experience.

Watching little ones grow in confidence week by week, and supporting families along the way, is something I feel incredibly lucky to be part of.

I’m so excited to continue this journey and can’t wait to see what the future holds!”
